Beatrice "Bea" Burton

Beatrice Eloise Burton, age 88, passed away Wed., Dec 12, 2018, in Pascagoula, surrounded by her loving daughters. She was born May 12, 1930, in Greentown, Indiana and graduated High school there in 1946, at the age of 16 years old. Bea married the love of her life, Chuck Burton on April 5, 1950. Together they lovingly raised 4 daughters and celebrated 55 wonderful years together before Chuck passed away in 2006. She retired after a 22 year career being the “Worker Bee” and “Sunshine” at Pascagoula Senior Center.  This followed a 28 year  career  in finance at Ingalls Shipbuilding which followed 8 years at Shainburg’s at Belair shopping Center. Bea was an active member of Church on the Rock in Pascagoula and considered the membership there her extended family. Bea remained active at Pascagoula Senior Center with the Golden Age Club, Pottery and Bible Study as well as helping where ever needed.

In addition to her precious husband, Chuck, Bea was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Imogene Rosier, 2 brothers and a sister, and son in law Wayne Taylor.

Bea is survived by her 4 precious daughters,  Joan Burton and Renee Tillman from Pascagoula, Kay Taylor from Hattiesburg and Pascagoula and Jeanie Burton from Sanford,  Florida; her beloved grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Nathan and Jonathan Tillman, all from Pascagoula and Angela and Mark Limbraugh from Lima, Ohio.

Visitation will be held at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula on Saturday , Dec.  15, 2018, 10:00-12 noon, followed by the Funeral Service beginning at 12 noon with Rev. Rodger Bradley officiating.  Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Biloxi on Monday, Dec 17, for immediate family only. 

Pallbearers are John Harry, Dorsey West, Kevin Cady, Randy Mitchell, Rick Windham and Charles Jackson.  Honorary Pall Bearers are Devin Cady, James Cady, Holcomb Pittman and Calvin Lett.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Bea’s name to Church on the Rock, 3901 Chico St., Pascagoula, MS  39581.
