Shirley Carlson Larsen Fields

Shirley Carlson Larsen Fields, age 75, of Pascagoula passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019 at her home. She was born July 5, 1943 in Fort Pierce, Florida and has been a resident of Pascagoula since 1945.  She was a 1961 graduate of Pascagoula High School and received her Masters of Education Degree from University of Southern Mississippi.  While attending USM she was the President of Kappa Delta Sorority. She was a teacher for over 25 years for the Pascagoula-Gautier School District and enjoyed making life long meaningful relationships with students, parents, and faculty members.  She was the former owner of The Cottage and current owner of Merle Norman on Ingalls Avenue in Pascagoula. Shirley was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church in Pascagoula.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Lillian Carlson and her niece, Stacey Mhoon Nix.  She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Jimmy L. Fields, of Pascagoula; two sons and one daughter, Chip Larsen (Colleen), Lara Larsen Bourgeois; Justin Larsen (Genesis); sister, Carla Mhoon; niece, Amanda Blonde (Matt), five grandchildren, Maggie Larsen, Patrick Larsen, Paul Millette, Brie Bourgeois, Lila Larsen; all of Pascagoula;  four step children, Jim Fields, Jacksonville, FL; Jay Fields, Gautier (Maureen); Rusty Fields (Monica), Hurley; Meghan Holder (Wayne), Waco, TX; four step grandchildren, Luke Fields, Lola Field,  Michaela Holder and  and Jude Holder; numerous other relatives and great friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019, 6:00-8:00pm, at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula.  Funeral Service will be Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, 2:00pm, at First Presbyterian Church in Pascagoula.  Burial will be at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula.
