Thomas Stephen Molander of Gautier, MS, was surrounded by family, love and light, when he answered God’s call home on October 30, 2018. Waiting to greet him in heaven, among other family and friends, are his wife Rebecca Hawk Molander, his parents Ollie and Marie Molander of Tucson, AZ and a grandson Daniel Miller.
Left to live out his legacy, are his children, Audri Molander of KS, Erick Molander of MS, Cris Molander (Theresa Carlson) of MS, Stephanie (Steve) Cunningham of OH, Wendie (Gregg) Laste of NH, Susette (Chris) Parks of NH, Ana (Rick) Alexander of AL, Sonja (John) Raez of CO, Monica (Joseph) Sheffield of MS, (and their mother Anita Daniels of MS), Joe (Rukhsana) Harper of FL and Nathan (Lindsey) Kelley of TX, his 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, his brother Chuck (Nancy) Molander of AZ, his sister Christina (Robert) Pasterz of AZ, his Bellich family of IL, his mother–in-law Marie Lowe of TN, his sister-in-law Carrie Hawk (John Lynch) of TN, and his brother-in-law Mark (Mary Ann) Hawk of AL.
Mr. Molander was born in Rockford, IL and grew up in Tucson, AZ. He graduated from the University of Arizona with an electrical engineering degree and went to work at Hughes Aircraft in Arizona, later moving to California. There, he began working for Litton Industries and moved to Gautier, MS with the company in 1971. He retired from Ingalls in 2002 and started an investment advisory firm, TSM, Inc.
Mr. Molander was an avid reader, a life-long learner, and a crossword puzzle extraordinaire. He was intelligent, precise, and integrity was important to him. He was a great provider for his family and had a generous heart to everyone, a true present day Saint Nicholas. His family wishes to thank all his loving friends and all the prayer warriors who have sent love and prayers for him over the last few months.
Visitation services will be held at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula,MS on Sunday, November 4 from 6-8pm. A rosary will be prayed at 7:30 during this time. Funeral mass and services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gautier, MS on Monday, November 5 at 10 am with a procession to Griffin Cemetery in Moss Point, MS after. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Gautier, MS. Pallbearers will be Nathan Kelley, Cristopher Molander, Kevin Molander, Luke Cunningham, Nicholas Raez, and Austin Raez.
