Ada Emily Clark Lovorn, 89 of Pascagoula, MS passed away Friday, April 9, 2021.
Ada was born in Pascagoula, MS on February 19, 1932 to Lynwood Joseph, Sr and Ethel Hudson Clark and was a lifelong resident of Pascagoula, MS. She attended Our Lady of Victories Catholic School and was Salutatorian of her class. After graduation she worked at Ingalls Shipyard where she met her husband of 59 years, Justin Elwood Lovorn (Lovett). She started working at Our Lady of Victories Catholic School in 1969 and retired in 1994. During her 25 years of service Ada wore many hats and excelled at all of them.
Ada was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker. She was a talented artist, car painter and cook. She enjoyed gardening, wood working, needlepoint and reading. Ada possessed a true servant’s heart. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the hearts of many, who were forever changed by her constant nurturing and love. Ada was a devout Catholic at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church for 89 years. She was baptized, confirmed and married in this same church.
Ada was preceded in death by her husband J. E. (Lovett) Lovorn; her parents, Lynwood Joseph, Sr and Ethel Hudson Clark; her brother, Lynwood Joseph, Jr and her sister Ruth Clark Runge and her granddaughter Mary Katherine Foster.
She is survived by her four children, Mary Clare Lovorn of Mobile, Alabama; Sissy Lovorn Zelenka (Randy), Buddy (Vickey) Lovorn and Meg (Walker) Foster all of Pascagoula, MS. Eleven grandchildren who lovingly called her “Maw Maw”, Haley, Clark (Katie), Emily (Brandon), Justin (Beth), Hilary (Will), Lindsey (Justin), Matt, Elizabeth (Chase), Emma, Anne Marie and Mary Walker; thirteen great children; brother, William Kell (Billy) Clark, Sr; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
The entire Lovorn family wishes to extend their gratitude to Kare In Home Health, Kare In Home Hospice and Lisa Gordon for love care and dedication shown to our mother. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula, MS with rosary recited at 6:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 12 noon at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula, MS. Serving as pallbearers will be Clark Zelenka, Justin Lovorn, Matt Zelenka, Randy Zelenka, Walker Foster, Jr. and Mickey Miles.
