Carol Sanders Price

After a courageous battle with health issues, Wilma “Carol” (Sanders) Price, age 75, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 in Ocean Springs. MS. She was a resident of Pascagoula for over 50 years.

Carol was born in Hawesville, KY to Fila Sanders and Jewell (Harris) Sanders on April 14, 1946. The daughter of a farmer, she understood the meaning of hard work at an early age. She graduated from Hancock County High School in 1965. After relocating to the MS Gulf Coast, she met and married Mr. Elmer R. Carr, who preceded her in death on June 27, 1996. In 2001 she married Mr. Donald, E, Price, he survives. Carol worked for many years for the Pascagoula School Systems. After her retirement in 2006, she devoted her life to her family. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time with her family, taking great care of her pets and talking on the phone.

Carol was a kind, loving and generous woman who never met a stranger. She had an infectious laugh and a smile that would light up the room. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be remembered for her kindness and her absence will be felt by all who had the honor of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer R. Carr; grandsons, Shawn Matthew Hester, Tyler Ray Carr; her parents; half-siblings, William Sanders, Wanda Goatley and Bonnie Jean Lain.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Donald E. Price of Pascagoula; her beloved pet Miley; sons, Kevin W. Carr of Grand Bay, AL and Kenneth R. Carr of Ocean Springs; daughter, Carolyn R. Hester of Grand Bay, AL; step-son and daughter-in-law, Donald E. Price, Jr and Leslie A. Price of Pascagoula; grandchildren, Caleb M. Myrick of Pascagoula, M. Seth Price of Pascagoula, Joshua C, Price of Springfield, MO and Cheryl Ann Price of Pascagoula; brother and sister-in-law, Terry W. Sanders and Linda Sanders of Hawesville, KY and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and other family members including, Ron Carr, Loretta Necaise, Alex Green and Aaron Green, and many friends.

Visitation will be held 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm Saturday, November 20, 2021 at O’Bryant O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula, MS. Services will follow at 3:00 pm with Brother Archie Holley officiating. A private graveside ceremony will be held at a later date.

The family would like to offer a special “Thank You” to the staff of Singing River Hospital and Ocean Springs Hospital SICU for their compassion and the loving treatment shown to our loved one in her time of need.
