Danny Savage Obituary

Dorsey “Danny” Savage, Jr. changed his address to heaven on September 20, 2020. He was born to Danny and Cathy Savage March 17, 1977 in Pascagoula, MS.

When he left this world, we know he was greeted by Jesus and his daddy. He leaves behind his three sons to carry on his name, Joseph Savage, Christian (Lauren Coakley) Savage and Elijah (Madyson Braden) Savage. He is also survived by his Mama; his siblings Christine Killian of Gulf Shores, AL, Melinda (Robert) Tyson of Gautier, Derek (Amber Phelps) Savage of Gautier. He was dearly loved by his nieces Caitlyn Tyson, Carly Tyson, Abbigail Savage and Madison Creel, his nephews Preston Creel and Gavin Creel. As well as his great nieces Lakyn and Georgia Hiers and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Danny was married twice. First to the mother of his children Heather Savage and later to Janene Gibson Savage.

He worked for years following in his dad’s footsteps at Ingalls. While at Ingalls, he was able to further his education and obtained a degree in structural engineering. Danny left MS to broaden his horizons in 2012. He has lived in several states with the majority of his time being spent in TX and the last 3 years in WI. Danny got to know and cherished the people he met in his many adventures. To know him was to love him. And to love him meant you were most assuredly mad at him at some point. Danny truly had a kind heart. He had a zest for young people. He led the youth at Martin Bluff Baptist Church for a short time until he moved away.

As much as he loved his life and his adventures, nothing compared to the love he had for his three boys. Joseph, Christian and Elijah were the beat to his heart. In the recent days, the boys have all said, no matter how mad he may have been at them, he never got off the phone without telling them how much he loved them. Recently, the thing he looked forward to more than anything else in his life, was the arrival of his grandson Kalem in November.

We may never understand why God called Danny home at such a young age, but we are comforted knowing he is finally at peace. Visitation will be Saturday, September 26, 2020 at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula from 12 noon until 2:00pm.
