Dorothy "Dot" Loris

Dorothy Faye “Dot” Loris passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the age of 88.

Dot was born December 16, 1933 in Gulfport, MS to Willie and Mary Burns. She married Joseph F. Loris they made their home in Pascagoula and together they had 5 children, Joseph Jr, Debra, John, Jeffrey and Jay.  She loved to sew, quilt, glaze pottery, but her true focus was always her family. Where ever or what ever her family was involved in that is she wanted to be, especially attending, youth sporting events for her children and grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church now Arlington Baptist Church for too many years to remember. This kind loving lady will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death 2014 by her husband Joseph F. Loris Sr.

She is survived by her five children, Joseph Francis Loris Jr. (Donna) of Vancleave, MS, Debra Hodges (David), Pascagoula, MS, John Loris, Pascagoula, Jeffrey Loris (Tina) of Moss Point, MS and Jay Loris (Kay) of Hurley, MS; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; special friend, Chasity Clay and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 8, 2022 at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home from 9:30am-10:30am. The Funeral Service will follow at 10:30 am with Rev. Michael Wilkinson officiating. Interment will conclude at Machpelah Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed online at www.obryantokeefe.com.
