Glen Earl Richards, Jr. age, 75, of Gautier, passed away peacefully at Ocean Springs Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with his health. Glen was born October 18, 1948 to Glen Richards Sr. and Beaulah Murray Richards in Pascagoula, Ms. He graduated from Our Lady of Victories High School where all his siblings attended as well.
Glen retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula after employment of 50 total years as a Senior Design Specialist. He was a First-Class Sheet Metal Mechanic having acquired his Associates Degree from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
He was an avid Fisherman, and enjoyed duck hunting. Glen had a passion for the Singing River and West River and he enjoyed sharing stories about his childhood adventures. He will be remembered for being a devoted and loving family man and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. Glen often spent his time boating and fishing with his son-in-law, Michael, and was a brilliant and skilled artist especially with drawing faces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen, Sr. and Beaulah Richards; brother, Charley Richards; brother-in- law, Ronnie Lee; father-in-law, Jessie Rosson; mother-in-law, Mona Lachaussee Rosson, and sister-in law, Becky Lynn Trone.
Glen is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Mary Rosson Richards, of Gautier; daughter, Kelly and her husband, Michael Watson of Gautier; grandchildren, Faith Elizabeth Watson and Michael Rhett Watson, Gautier; three sisters, Ruth “Biddie” Lee, Black Mountain, NC, Alice Goff, Escatawpa, and Annie Cook (Mickey) of Pascagoula; sister-in law, Judy Dur (Phil); numerous nieces, nephews, great friends and other relatives.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 21, 2024, 10:00-11:00am, at Our Lady of Victories in Pascagoula. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00am at the church with committal service to follow at Jackson County Memorial Park on Ingalls Avenue in Pascagoula.
The family would like to acknowledge that they are extremely grateful to his loving home health care nurse, Chandler, for always keeping a smile on his face and all she did for him during his final days.
