Harlan Jerome Cuevas

Harlan “Joe” Jerome Cuevas passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020 in Gulfport, MS.

Joe was born on June 7, 1948 in Bay St Louis, MS to Virgil and Dorothy Cuevas.  He attended school at OLV and graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1966.  He married his high school sweetheart, Carol Johnson later that year.  Together they had two daughters, Kristi and Jennifer.  He was a member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church, Magnolia Classic Cruisers, Shriners, Friday Morning Group and Making Memories Regatta.    He enjoyed Resurrection Baseball, Classic Cars and all things history. Joe retired from Chevron Refinery as a process engineer. He loved and enjoyed life, his many friends were extended family to him and will be greatly missed by all.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol Cuevas of Gautier; daughters, Kristi Payne (Julius) of Biloxi and Jennifer Scarborough (Allen) of Pascagoula; siblings, Armand ( Jan) Cuevas of Moss Point, Thomas Cuevas (Brenda) Pascagoula, Renee Cuevas of Kiln; grandchildren, Olga Davis, Samuel Scarborough and Joseph Scarborough; and many other family and  friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church at 11am, with inurnment to follow at Machpelah Cemetery. Condolences maybe expressed online at www.obryantokeefe.com.
