Jean McCallister

Shelby Jean McCallister passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020 in Gulfport, MS

Jean as she was preferred to be called was one of six children born to Crayton and Mamie Lowe on June 20, 1937 in Lumberton, MS. She was a longtime resident of Gautier and Bethel Baptist Church.  Jean as she preferred to be called was a work horse, she had her hands in everything that crossed her path. She was a caring individual with a huge heart and willing to roll up her sleeves and help those in need. All of these characteristics including her natural desire to fix everything for everybody made life interesting.   She and her husband Mac where owners of Mac’s Discount Tobacco Shop. This  lady who added spice to the lives of her family will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents; 5 siblings; her husband Mac McCalliaster; son, Phillip Parker and grandson, Justin Parker.

She is survived by two children, Brian Parker and his wife Kimberly of Gautier and Karen Forshee and husband Kevin Foster of Gautier; grandchildren, Chris Coppola (Rhonda) and Savannah Walker (Austin); great-granddaughter , Autumn soon to make her arrival.

Graveside Service will be held Friday February 7 at Biloxi National Cemetery at 2:30pm. Condolences may be expressed online at www.obryantokeefe.com.
