Louise Kirkland

Louise Green Kirkland passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at the age of 94.

Louise was born to Chester and Minnie Green on October 31, 1927 in Kemper County, MS. She met and married R.L. Kirkland. Together they had three children, Dianne, Ricky and Michael. She was a longtime member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, Singing River Hospital Auxiliary and Rebecca (Oddfellows).  She loved fishing, cooking, gardening, and most of all, her grandchildren. Louise and R.L.’s goal was to retire and travel the country, his untimely death in 1988 hindered that to come true in its fullness, but she traveled whenever she could. Many memories have been made in the last 94 ½ years, too many to tell. He greatest traveling adventure has just begun.  A reunion day awaits, as the last survivor of 8 children. along with her mom, dad and R.L., heaven just got sweeter.

She is survived by her children Dianne K. Crisman and husband Hank of Pascagoula, MS, Ricky Lee Kirkland of Pascagoula, MS and Michael L. Kirkland and his wife Patrice of Harvey, LA; grandchildren, Christopher A. and Thomas F. Crisman and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be William Goldman Jr., Chris Turner, Raymond Svenson, Clyde Carrier, Lee Shepherd, and Brian Goldman, with honorary pallbearers Jerald Shepherd, William Goldman Sr., and Gerald Stuart. 

The visitation will be Monday, August 8, 2022 from 12:30-1:30pm. Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel at 1:30PM. Interment will conclude at Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to the American Heart Association.
