Marilyn Davis Obituary

Marilyn Jane Park Davis, 92, of Pascagoula, MS, passed away peacefully at her home on September 18, 2021. She was born on April 23, 1929, in Ocean Springs, MS, to the late John and Essie (Coleman) Park.

Marilyn married Lowell Davis on June 1, 1947 and went on to raise six children in Pascagoula. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pascagoula where she worked as a Kindergarten teacher and also in the nursery on Sundays. After raising her family, Marilyn worked at Brumfield’s in Singing River Mall. She also spent much of her free time playing bridge, gardening, and crocheting tablecloths, bedspreads, etc. Marilyn’s strong faith was passed on to all of her children and she leaves a lasting impact on all that knew her.  She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Philip Lowell Davis, Jr., her children Deborah Patterson and Michael Davis, her brothers William Park, James Park and Donald Park, her sister Ione Purcell, her step-brothers Freddie Ehlers and Louis Park, and her step-sisters Dorothy Webb and Florence Gallant.

Marilyn is survived by her children Susan (Harvey) Adams, Philip Davis, Cindy (Tim) Stevens, and Marcy (Dennis) Reeves, her grandchildren Todd (Greta) Adams, Tim (Deanna) Patterson, Ben (Nicole) Patterson, Erin (Billy) Horne, Jesse (Samantha) Walton, Justin (Crystal) Walton, and Christine Stevens, 14 great grandchildren and many other family members and friends.

A private family service celebrating her life will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice and the Home Instead caregivers for their loving care and support.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in her memory be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
